Soulmate Rabbit Rescue Adoption

- All rescues ask for a safe home environment, ample space, and a companion human who will cherish their personality.

We can provide care when foster homes or adopters are available. Young children or a noisy environment are often not an appropriate match for a wary vulnerable lagomorph.

SRR foster homes have dwindled in the last 10 years.
We are focusing on sanctuary care for elders & special needs, and education info. -- We are cautious and screen carefully for the benefit of each rescue. Children may outgrow their interest in caring for a rabbit. Careful screening helps us place rabbits in dedicated homes. A home with predatory pets may create stress for a vulnerable pet. Screening is a major focus for 10-13+ years of contented bunny companionship.

Research and think responsibly before adopting a 12-year pet commitment in your family.

Are you interested in adopting a lifelong companion?

1. You must be 21 years of age.

- Rabbits live 10-12 years, or longer. Are you prepared for affection, quality vet care, veggie salads and plenty of playshift hours?

2. Our rabbits are seen by a rabbit-savvy DVM. An exam is done to ensure your bun is in good health. Vet records are available. Wellness exam w/ fecal testing costs range around $150. A rabbit-savvy DVM is essential for lifelong care.

3. For a potential bonding partner, all rabbits must be spayed/neutered.

4. We are with our fosters night & day. We can tell you who's a hay gobbler, who's a leaper; digs; climbs; snores; snubs veggies; is an interior decorator; and other specific traits.

5. We'd like to see the room or area your bun will occupy. Pix of your bunny's room are helpful and rabbit rescue groups may do a short home visit.

6. The adoption process: Emails, phone call, photos shared/house visit, & personal exchange of info.
Adoptions, transitions may take a few weeks. We ask that you be patient when choosing a pet for 10-12 years. We coordinate with the foster parents.

7. SRR buns will remain indoors. Natural sunlight, via windows, and a nicely furnished (heated) area are required. A trip to the vet is a recognized reason to be outside the home-safe structure.

- We give Vet Recommendations.
- SRR does not endorse "preemie" alterations on young rabbits.
- Update June 2020: We have suspended dating services due to Covid-19 and limited number of potential partners.
- We are here to assist if you ever have a concern!

Careful consideration helps SRR make the best house rabbit match for you, your lifestyle, and routines.

Adoption fee is $40. $60 for a bonded pair.
Typical rescue, spay/neuter & transition cost is $700 or more. - Thank you for supporting Rescue efforts.

We can courtesy post rehome-needy rabbits by listing them on Petfinder when SRR foster berths are full. -- This allows you to meet the person/s who will give your companion a new home. -- Caregiver Assistance allows innocent buns to find homes.

In memory of the "many babies" who were born ~ and died on the streets ~ spay/neuter surgeries will prevent overpopulation and carcinoma health concerns.
