Marlayna

hi! ~ I'm Marly, Marlayna, 'Laina. I didn't have a name before I came to foster care. If so, I'd rather forget it. A very kind person took me in after I had been neglected.

My life began to change ...

~ Please forgive those skin flaps.

On a positive note, they are pretty soft from my rex fur. Someone never took care of me the way a house bun and rabbit should be cared for. My nails were so long and twisted, I couldn't walk.

The cage I came in was yucky, to put it mildly.

I have a dislike for water crocks. Here I have a big kettle, so I won't pick up a sturdy water crock & break it. Yah, my past wasn't so happy or fun.

Let's talk about the good things now! 'Cause my foster mom is giving me an entirely new outlook. I have cuddled next to her for pets and kisses. I would love to find a forever home. I'm pretty young for all those flappy folds (you see).

Here's pics from my wellness exam.

I liked eating hay in this carry-along tube-toy.

Dr. Bloss is looking at my ears.

My report card says I'm a healthy rex lady.

Okay, then came my surgery day. The staff of Brook-Falls Veterinary Hospital made my Ovariohysterectomy as smooth as possible. I know that uterine cancer occurs in many females, 85% of females by age 5. When I'm spayed I can also meet eligible friends.

That afternoon I went home with my fosterer. Cindy got me from the recovery ward and carried me to the exam room in a snuggly blanket.

Vet Tech Cindy informs about the post-op metacam doses.

My home with a loving human awaits,
