Soulmate Rabbit Rescue -
Labor of Love

- May 2011 Update -

How many rabbits get their own party? Precisely, spoiled rabbits. Right from her housewarming invitation, "Lizzie is also celebrating her just completed thesis for her MSEB (Master of Science Easter Bunny). With Linda's help she recently delivered her first work of art to Jim.

Harley-dutch Nicholas. Unwanted and left at a pet store. How about a family of four? Karen and James, Katrina and Anja eagerly welcomed Nicholas to their home. He climbs in dad's lap for blueberry treats, engages in bunny 500s, and responds to, "Nicholas, can I have a hug?" He stands up to put his paws at Katrina's neck. He watches TV with his dad. Coy & curious, playing peek-a-boo games under mom's skirt is another fun activity.

Adopted Dutch Gracie is oinking for her adopter, and gets plenty of cuddles. Oh, the binkies! Gracie transitioned from a high-volume shelter with rescue collaboration.

Companion cats:
"Napoleon has been really having a blast with his surroundings including several play sessions with the cats! I'm attaching a few pictures from this weekend" (Harper and Napoleon hangout sessions) - from Josh and Napoleon

Amy and Katherine brought Gigi to our house late March for a date with Buddy. The supervised intros in our kitchen looked positive. Buddy's foster parents smiled with the cordial "groom me" motions. Amy gets the credit for successfully completing the bond in side-by-side exercise pens, back at Gigi's home. Buddy and Gigi have a devoted caregiver named Katherine who spends many hours petting her bunnies.

"Buddy seems much more willing to 'ask' to be pet now and then sit and enjoy it - as before he was just so BUSY checking everything out. I think we have two total snuggle bunnies on our hands now, which is great!" - Amy

April: Penney was spayed by Dr. Follett at Brook-Falls Veterinary Hospital & Exotic Care. A good-hearted benefactor made it possible for Penney to be spayed. SRR covered the remaining costs. We'll be including some post-surgery checkout photos in her gallery link.

A foster berth is needed for Penney. She can find a husbun now, too. Please let us know. On May 1st she became an official SRR intake vs. rehome needy.

Saul's mom writes, "I was recently going through some photos on my computer and thought you might enjoy some of the latest pics of Saul. He has become a very well-adjusted little bunny boy who loves hopping in and out of our wooden stool, helping me with my quilting projects, and occasionally enjoying a rest on the couch.

It is tough in rescue comraderie. The calls and requests come often. We are busy. Your experiences, notes and photos educate website visitors. You educate because you'll be quick to inform novice persons what living with a rabbit entails. SRR fosterers appreciate knowing their lil' charge has a happy home. Your kind words, thoughtful donations, supplies or holiday boxes of various magnitude improve the lives of unwanted, jeopardized and innocent pets. Most of all, they have you.

A new beginning!! ~

Happy Mother's and Father's Day ~
